Good quality Surgical tools are the first step towards a successful
surgery. The field of surgery has become very vast and specific tools are
used for specific surgeries. They are all specialized tools.
Tonometers are used to measure Intraocular
pressure (IOP). They act by measuring the resistance of eye to a force. Some
tonometers measure pressure by expelling a puff of air (noncontact
tonometer) towards the eyeball from a very short distance. Other tonometers
are placed directly on the cornea.
The noncontact tonometers are not as accurate as the contact tonometers.
They are used for general screenings as a part of regular visits to the eye
specialists.
