Surgical Mallets

Surgical mallets are solid lead or brass filled with stainless steel, or solid stainless steel hammer like instruments. They are used to exert force on chisels and gauges. They are used to drive in the diagnostic instruments or nails etc into the medullary canal. They are quite common in bone grafting surgeries.

These are often used in dental surgery along with a chisel to split the tooth. Specific care has to be taken while using and storing these mallets.
