Catheters

The word "catheter" comes from the Greek word for "let down".
They are the flexible tube inserted in the body to maintain an opening for
different purposes like add or drain some fluid from the body. They are used
for ongoing drug treatments or drain the urine from the patients body etc.
There are two main types of catheters used namely Urinary and I.V. Urinary
Catheters are placed through the urethra to externally drain the bladder and
IV catheters are placed through the blood stream to administer the
medication.
